What is NLP?
Everything you do, you have a way of doing it, a method you follow, a way of thinking about it. Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP is a way of discovering and changing the way you (N) feel, (L) think and (P) behave in your life.
NLP was created in the 1970's when Richard Bandler and John Grinder began 'modelling' the success patterns of those who excelled and how they achieved the results they did. The principles they discovered became the basis of NLP.
Since then NLP has continued to develop and today it provides many simple powerful methods for changing the way you think, feel and behave.
The Attitude of NLP:
A sense of curiosity and adventure, a desire to learn the skills to be able to find out what kinds of communication influences people. To look at life as a rare and unprecedented opportunity to learn.
The Methodology of NLP:
Based on the assumption that all behaviour has a structure which can be modelled, learned, taught, and changed (re -programmed).
The Technology of NLP:
Enabling the practitioner to organise information and perceptions in ways that allow them to achieve remarkable results.
What happens when I first get in touch?
The first thing we’ll do is arrange a time to have a chat (normally over the phone). It takes about 20 minutes and is free of charge and without obligation. This 20 minute consultation gives us both the opportunity to decide if coaching with us is the best catalyst of change for you.
What happens at the first full session?
The first session is an overview of the issue you’re bringing to coaching, in the context of your whole life as it currently is. The first session lasts an hour and you will define the outcome that you want to achieve from coaching.
How many sessions will I need?
This is very different from person to person but on average it will take 6 - 12 session to make real change but I have worked with people for over 12 months on an ongoing basis.
How frequently will I see you and how long is each session?
You will see me once every 2 weeks and the session is booked in for 1 hour the reason for the gap in between is for you to complete your action plan. I do not do more than an hour session as bite size chunks are better to work with and then allow you to reflect on this and how it effects the large outcome.
Do you need to tell your Coach everything?
Our coaches at New Balance Coaching can work in a nondisclosure way. What does this mean? if you do not want to tell your coach something, may this be a painful memory or you feel it has no relevance they can still run the sessions and help you with the change as you would do all the thinking in your own mind.
Do you do telephone or online coaching?
We do offer telephone coaching so distance is not a difficulty but we are moving more to using the online coaching and using video conferencing to take the inconvenience of travel away in your very busy life but still giving you the benefit of a face to face session.
I have a question but you have not answered it?
Please feel free to ask it by the contact us section and one of our coaches will be happy to get in touch and answer it for you.
